Position Summary:
Compiles, analyzes, and maintains the underlying data supporting University Hospital's annual Medicare and Medicaid cost report(s), and other major cost activities. Prepares the cost report for all Clinical Operations. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.
  • FINANCE - Prepare the Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports University Hospital and all related clinical operations

  • FINANCE - Prepare necessary quarterly reviews for Disproportionate Share and Indirect Medical Education State Funding

  • FINANCE - Adhere to all department and hospital policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, and Federal and State regulations regarding Medicare and Medicaid reporting

  • FINANCE - Conduct studies and prepares surveys for University Hospital

  • FINANCE - Conduct studies of other components of the University of New Mexico Medical Center in conjunction with the reimbursement activities of University Hospital (UH)

  • FINANCE - Act as liaison between the UH reimbursement function and the fiscal intermediary; this includes maintaining the IRIS (Intern & Resident database)

  • FINANCE - Prepare annual Joint Form 1 (PHS report), and Workers' Compensation Form

  • FINANCE - Write the AD HOC reports required for the studies conducted by the reimbursement department

  • FINANCE - Respond to information requests from the fiscal intermediary

  • FINANCE - Contact the intermediary regarding cost reporting and payment issues

  • REPORTS - Assists the supervisor in preparing surveys and reports, as necessary

  • FINANCE - Maintain knowledge of the latest government activities affecting hospital reimbursement and the effect these changes have on the reimbursement of University Hospital as well as the other components other UNM Medical Center

  • Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline

  • Experience Requirements:
  • 5 years directly related experience
