Position Summary:
Serve as hospital receptionist; operate telephone console; answer and direct phone calls as requested; perform other related duties within assigned area to include clerical support. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Accountability:
  • ANSWER - Answer and direct hospital phone calls as requested; take and relay messages; page hospital personnel as needed

  • EMERGENCY - Announce and inform hospital staff meetings, fire/disaster drills and other related announcements; monitor security and maintenance radio; ensure proper personnel are notified of emergency or activity in a timely manner

  • SCHEDULE - Maintain phone log filling system and physician on-call schedule; carry out appointment reminder calls

  • SERVICE - Provide information and direct internal and external customers to appropriate designation; ensure customer satisfaction by providing quality service

  • EQUIPMENT - Operate general office equipment including computer, switchboard, copier and fax machines

  • EQUIPMENT - Operate a variety of communication equipment to include pagers, dispatch radios, ACD and other related equipment

  • ADMINISTRATION - Perform routine clerical support duties to include sorting, coping and filing; may assist in the training of new staff

  • Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Experience Requirements:
  • 1 year directly related experience

  • Experience Requirements - Preferred:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo

  • Physical Demands Requirements:
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
