Phase I
- Complete and return application packet with all required documents
- Complete interview with the Director of Pastoral and receive approval to begin clinical internship
- Complete voluntary criminal background check
- Complete TB testing
- Obtain hospital badge
- Complete hospital chaplain's orientation requirements
- Completion of appropriate courses (4) required with Organizational and Professional Development department.
- Complete a minimum of 50 hours of group supervision
- Complete a minimum of 100 supervised clinical patient contact hours including verbatims
- Obtain Director of Pastoral recommendation for satisfactorily completion of Clinical Pastoral Crisis Intervention - Phase I
- Obtain the endorsement of satisfactory completion of Clinical Pastoral Crisis
Phase 2
- Completion of Clinical Pastoral Crisis Intervention Phase I
- Complete a minimum of 100 hours of supervised clinical patient contact hours including verbatims
- Complete a minimum of 24 "on call" duty shifts
- Complete all personal writing & reflection assignments as assigned by Clinical Pastoral Supervisor
- Obtain Director of Pastoral Care's recommendation for satisfactorily completion of Clinical Pastoral Crisis Intervention - Phase II
- Obtain the endorsement of satisfactory completion of Clinical Pastoral Crisis Intervention - Phase II from the Director of Pastoral Care
- Obtain documentation of Advanced Certification in Clinical Pastoral Crisis Intervention and University Hospital Certification Endorsement letter
Phase I
- 100 hours: Supervised clinical patient contact
- 16 hours: Classroom Instruction from OPD
- 50 hours of group supervision
- 4 hours: Clinical Pastoral Research
- Total Hours: 170 hrs (min.)
Phase 2
- 100 hours: Supervised clinical patient contact
- 50 hours: equivalent of 24 On-Call Chaplaincy duties days
- 30 hours: Individual and group supervision
- 12 hours: Personal reading and reflection
- Clinical Pastoral Research paper and presentation
- Total Hours: 192 hrs (min.)
