Do we have any primary care providers that are accepting new patients? Insurance company booklets and websites are inaccurate, can you provide accurate information?
The status of openings changes frequently; for the most up-to-date information, please call Centralized Scheduling at
(505)272-1623, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm.  If there are (temporarily) no openings, you may call First Choice or go to any First Choice Clinic, or call First Nation. Centralized Scheduling can also put you on a waiting list and contact you when a provider has an opening.

I was offered a medical appointment with a Nurse Practitioner.  Are they just as good as being seen by a Physician?
Nurse practitioners are licensed, independent practitioners. They are allowed to diagnose illness, order required tests and treatments, prescribe medications and refer patients to specialists. They can take care of all but the most complex medical issues.

Do I need my Medical Record Number (MRN) when I call?
It's not absolutely necessary but, because we have many patients with identical names, it is the best way for us to make sure we are accessing YOUR medical record.

What do I do if I need to talk to someone right away about my health?
You may call our nurse advice line at 1-877-725-2552 for immediate assistance.

My child is now 18 years old. How do I get them a new primary care provider?
Your child's Pediatrician will coordinate their transition to an adult provider.

Is Lobo Care Clinic a Primary Care Provider Clinic?
Lobocare is not a primary care clinic. It is a clinic for employees with minor illnesses.

What are Urgent Care's hours and phone number?
Urgent Care is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 pm to 8:00 pm.  However, we first suggest calling the Nurse Advice Line at 1-877-725-2552.  They will make suggestions about the best place to get the help you need.
