Center for Neuropsychological Services

The Center for Neuropsychological Services (CNS) is a program of the University of New Mexico Hospital and University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. CNS provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient neuropsychological evaluation and consultation services for children, adolescents, and adults. Readily accessible and responsive neuropsychological evaluations are essential to the appropriate management of complex psychiatric conditions as well as various chronic medical and neurological conditions.  The Center receives referrals from departments throughout the UNM Health Sciences Center, including Family Practice, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine and Psychiatry, as well as from clinicians and agencies across the state. The Center is an integral part of the UNM HSC’s epilepsy surgery program, providing pre- and post-surgical neuropsychological evaluations as well as Wada (sodium amytal) testing. Further, CNS provides neuropsychological consultation services for the Transdisciplinary Evaluation and Support Clinic (TEASC) and the Special Needs Clinic in the Department of Family Practice and the Young Enduring Survivors Clinic in the UH Pediatric Oncology Department.

With a staff of twenty-three that includes seven clinical Neuropsychologists, a clinical psychologist, and other supporting staff of post doctoral fellows, interns, graduate students, psychometrists and administrative assistants, our goal is to provide comprehensive and personalized Neuropsychological evaluations in a timely manner to effect positive outcomes for our clients and their families.
