University of New Mexico Hospitals offers a Transition Program for new graduate Associate Degree Nurses. The program is designed to facilitate the development of knowledge, expertise and competency to provide exceptional care.
All new members of the nursing team enjoy a comprehensive orientation individualized to suit their specific learning needs. Each orientation is competency-based, preceptor-based and criteria-based. The components of each program are chosen to ensure that, upon completion, every nurse has the knowledge, expertise and competency to provide exceptional care.
Goals of the Associate Degree Program include:
