THE MOBILE ADOLESCENT CONSULTATION SERVICE (MACS)

Dr. Vic Strasburger is now available to consult with you -- in your office, at your convenience -- on adolescent patients or adolescent health care. This could involve seeing an adolescent patient in your office, discussing a patient with you in your office with or without the patient present, or simply having him observe how your office is set up, how you see adolescent patients, and making suggestions.

To schedule a consult, please call him directly at 272-0338 or e-mail him at vstrasburger@salud.unm.edu.

UNM School-Based Health Center

A team of health care in a school setting to provide primary care, mental health services, referral and prevention. Dr. Jane McGrath is the medical director with other physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychiatrists, and therapists participating in the program. Medical students, residents, and other Health Sciences Center students are welcome to inquire about participation as part of their community involvement programs. There SBHC providers needed medical services to those children and youth who normally to do not have access to a medical provider.

The University of New Mexico School-Based Health Center program provides health care services at several elementary, middle, and high schools in the Albuquerque, NM area. The centers are open during school hours and are staffed by licensed health care professionals and clinical assistants. Services are available to all students—regardless of their ability to pay—and include primary care (treatment of minor injuries and illnesses, immunizations, sports physicals, yearly comprehensive well child exams), mental health, referral, and prevention services. Additionally, dental services are provided at Highland High School and Van Buren Middle School. Dr. Jane McGrath, MD is the medical director and provides care along with other physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychiatrists, and therapists. Medical students, residents, and other Health Sciences Center students are welcome to inquire about participation as part of their community involvement programs. The SBHC program is a collaborative effort with the Department of Pediatrics, Department of Family and Community Medicine, the Department of Psychiatry, and the College of Pharmacy.
