Surgical Sub-Acute/TPL (6 South)

6-South is a 20-bed, all private rooms, cardiac-monitored, Surgical Sub-Acute care floor specializing in Kidney Transplant Surgery and is the primary floor for General Surgery and Emergency General Surgery patients. 6-S also cares for other Surgical Sub-Acute Care patients including Vascular Surgery, Urology, Orthopedic Surgery, Ears, Nose & Throat Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Gynecology-Oncology Surgery, Neurology Surgery, and Burn & Trauma.

This unit provides nursing care to acutely ill patient who require considerable direct care, observation, and cardiac monitoring. The average length of stay for a patient on 6-South is less than one week dependent on the patient diagnosis. 6-South uses a staffing acuity system to ensure that each patient receives the quality care they so richly deserve.
