Labor and Delivery, OB Triage and Fetal Testing
Welcome to Labor and Delivery, OB Triage and Fetal Testing at the University of New Mexico Hospital. This is a state of the art facility which includes 12 Labor and Delivery Recovery (LDR) rooms, five Obstetrical Triage Rooms, and three Operating Room Suites.
We care for low risk to extremely complicated obstetrical cases, and our cesarean section rate remains one of the lowest in the country at 21%. We are the only Regional Trauma Center in the area and partner with outlying community hospitals to transfer high risk patients to the UNM Hospital ensuring they receive needed care.
In addition, we offer a variety of services through our Fetal Testing Center. Our specially trained nurses are experts in ultrasound exams and performing non-stress tests and caring for our patient's health and the health of their unborn baby.
Our OB Triage area is staffed twenty-four hours a day to meet the needs of our pregnant patients. We work in tandem with multiple obstetrical practices including Perinatologists, Maternal and Family Medicine, Family Practice, Midwives, and Residents.
