Clinical Research Center (5 East / 3 East)

5 East is a 16-bed unit with 12 private and 2 semi-private rooms. This unit specializes in conducting research protocols for the Clinical and Translational Sciences Center and chemotherapy/Oncology care for the Cancer Research and Treatment Center. This unit is equipped with special rooms for cardiac monitoring, radioactive implants, stem-cell transplants as well as intensive research protocols, including our very own kitchen and lab dedicated solely to our research participants. We have recently expanded to 3 East to allow for 10 additional private rooms with the capability for cardiac monitoring to care for our growing Oncology population. 5 East is recognized as one of the top 50 Cancer Hospitals in the Nation and holds the Cancer Program Accreditation through the American College of Surgeons and Commission on Cancer.
