Carrie Tingley

Our new Carrie Tingley Inpatient Unit opened on Wednesday, June 6, 2007. Our unit is located in the new Bill and Barbara Richardson Pavilion (BBRP) on the 5th floor, next to the University of New Mexico Hospital on Lomas Boulevard.

CTH inpatient unit provides care for pediatric patients age 0-21 with congenital and acquired conditions that affect the musculo-skeletal, neurological, and neuromuscular systems. Care is family-centered and focuses on the medically complex patient. Rehabilitation services are directed toward goals for the patient that will improve their day-to-day quality of life. Children admitted to our unit benefit from our expertise in the areas of orthopedics, rehabilitation, neonatal abstinence, and other acute pediatric services. Inpatient stays range from short period of time up to several months.

Our patient care areas, and rehabilitation areas include:

  • Our own therapy gym used for patients needing Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapy.
  • A Child Life playroom where activities are held.
  • An exam room for patients so procedures can be done outside of the child's room.
  • Several tubs that are used for treatment and training.
  • Kitchen and laundry facilities for patients.
  • Parking for patients and families in the West Parking Structure and also across from the Barbara and Bill Richardson Pavilion.
