Named a National Cancer Institute Designated Cancer Center in 2005, the UNM Cancer Center ranks among the elite of the nation's very best cancer treatment programs for more than 3,000 newly diagnosed New Mexico cancer patients in more than 75,000 patient encounters last year.

Generous funding from the people of New Mexico through the State Legislature will soon result in an exceptional 190,500-square-foot, $88-million cancer treatment facility slated to open in fall 2009. Equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and engineered for efficient, comfortable patient and family care, UNM's new cancer treatment facility nurtures effective patient healing and full cancer recovery.

Our team is your team, and we've assembled a powerful, integrated network of geriatric, pediatric, pain, and other cancer specialists to ensure the continual exchange of progressive knowledge and experiences. In addition, the UNM Cancer Center draws research and clinical expertise from leaders in UNM's School of Medicine, Colleges of Nursing and Pharmacy, and the UNM Hospital system.
