Liver Clinic

At the Center for Digestive Disease Liver clinic, we specialize in the treatment of patients with the full range of liver diseases. Dr. Joseph Alcorn, the director of liver diseases program, has over 25 years of experience in treating liver disease.  He has published extensively in research related to liver injury.   Our experts see patients referred from physicians throughout the state of New Mexico, Texas, Colorado and Arizona for complex liver diseases.  Working closely with UNM faculty in the departments of surgery, interventional radiology and pathology, we offer an advanced multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of liver disease. Together with our full-time liver transplantation coordinator, Dollie Apodaca, we assist patients in the complex process of evaluation and referral for liver transplantation and the care of the post-transplant patient.
