Visiting Hours

Help us enforce visitation guidelines with friends and relatives who will be visiting.

  • Parents and grandparents may visit at any time.
  • Others may visit after therapies unless otherwise arranged with the Rehab Team.
  • Keep first visits short since your child may be tired from the day's stimulation and therapy.
  • Two visitors, in addition to the parents, may visit in your child's room at any one time.
  • Doors are locked after 8 p.m., so use the doorbell to the right of the front or East hospital entrance.
  • Children are welcome to visit, but must have close parental supervision at all times.
  • Please do not visit if you are ill, or bring any child who has recently been exposed to, or who has, a contagious illness.

The Cafeteria is located on the first floor.  The hours are:

07:00AM - 9:30AM Breakfast
9:30AM - 11:00AM Closed
11:00AM  -  1:15PM Lunch

Phones

Each room has a telephone.  Outside callers may call directly to the room, however, hospital staff cannot answer the calls.  To make an outside LOCAL call, dial 9 first, then the number. You may make long distance calls by charging them to your home number or your credit card.

Visitor's Guide to Infection Control and Handwashing

Families and visitors should not enter the hospital/clinic if ill (fever, cold symptoms, vomiting, diarrhea, cough, sore throat, etc.)

Visitors should not have contact with patients other than the one being visited and should not handle patient care equipment.

Handwashing should be done on entry to the unit and after contact with patient.

Hands should be washed using the following method:

  1. Wet hands with warm water.   Do not use hot water.   Hot water can make your skin dry and itchy.
  2. Put soap on your hands.
  3. Rub your hands together for 10 to 15 seconds.   Wash longer if you can still see dirt on your hands.   Make sure that you wash in between your fingers, the backs of your hands, your thumbs, and under your fingernails.   If you do not wash in these places, you may not get all of the germs off.   (Try singing two versus of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" to yourself while you rub to make sure that you are washing long enough).
  4. Rinse your hands thoroughly with warm water.   Make sure that you rinse in between your fingers and under your rings.  If you do not get all of the soap off, it may cause your skin to itch.
  5. Pat your hands dry.
Make sure to teach kids how to wash their hands, too!
