UNMCPC Gets New Play Structure & Garden Greenhouse
Money raised from the New Mexico Open Golf Tournament & the Pro-Am Charity Golf
Tournament held last September will fund the UNM Children’s Psychiatric Center new
“Mountain Range Play Structure” and the “Garden Greenhouse.”
The play structure, that broke ground, June 26, 2004 will help children build physical
coordination, mental and social skills. The garden greenhouse, to be installed in
August, will help some of New Mexico's most fragile children to heal through therapy programs
of nurturing a garden.

Los Altos Kiwanis and Uptown Civitans will be assisting in the installation of the playground.
The group helping with the greenhouse installation is Sandia Civitans
UNM Children’s Psychiatric Center provides quality psychiatric treatment to seriously emotionally
disturbed children. In addition, they provide family education and treatment to strengthen
understanding of, and capacity to manage their children. They work with families, community
agencies, and schools to facilitate the child's successful return to family and community.
