Alas, someone you love may one day need the special care that is provided
by The Mariposa Program. Although Medicaid and private insurance may pay for a portion
of hospice services, there is often a wide gap between what is covered and the actual cost
for services provided. Some patients have no insurance coverage at all. The goal
of The Mariposa Program is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to all children with
a life-limiting illness, regardless of their ability to pay. We never want to turn anyone
away and your donation can help us achieve this goal.
Your donation to The Mariposa Program will help pay for hospice care for
children from indigent families. This hospice care can include visits from team members
as well as the provision of medications and durable medical equipment. Along with these
important patient-care services, donations will also fund our bereavement support services
and our outreach education program for individuals and agencies throughout the state.
You may make your donation by printing and completing the donation form
on this site, or by simply sending us a note with your donation wishes and payment
information. Checks can be made payable to UNM Mariposa Program, and sent care of UNM
Hospital Development Office, Two Woodward Center, 700 Lomas, NE, Suite 100, Albuquerque, NM
87102. If you require additional information, please contact Hazel Tull-Leach at (505)
277-5689. Should you like to make your donation in honor of, or in memory of someone
special, please include this information on your donation form or note. Be sure to
include the person's name, as well as the name and address of the person or persons we should
notify of your memorial/honorary gift.
Thank you for considering this vital service in your philanthropic planning.
Your gift will provide comfort and compassion at a time when it is needed most.
