Sleep Quizzes

One out of three Americans has a sleep disorder, which can make sleeping or waking hours miserable.  Many of these people suffer needlessly because they are unaware that a problem exists.  The questions below are related to two common sleep disorders.  Take the quiz and see how you do!

Insomnia
I have difficulty falling asleep.
Thoughts race through my mind and this prevents me from sleeping
I wake up during the night and cannot go back to sleep
I worry about things and have trouble relaxing
I wake up earlier in the morning than I would like to
I lie awake for half an hour or more before I fall asleep
I feel sad and depressed
Insomnia Total

Sleep Apnea
I've been told that I snore
I've been told that I stop breathing while I sleep, although I don't remember this when I wake up
I have high blood pressure
I sweat excessively during the night
I get morning headaches
I suddenly wake up gasping for breath during the night
I am overweight
I experience aching or "crawling" sensations in my legs
Sometimes I can't keep my legs still at night
Sleep Apnea Total

If you received a total of 2 or more in either category above, you may have a sleep disorder, and we suggest you consult your medical provider about referral to a sleep specialist.  For information on sleep disorders, you may go to the National Sleep Foundation at www.sleepfoundation.org.
