Construction Phases
Second Phase Construction Activities
(January 2006 - June 2006)
  • Contractors began framing interior walls of the Pavilion.

  • Began installation of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning systems on the third floor of Pavilion

  • Placement of last steel- I-Beam was celebrated March 3rd 2006 with a topping out ceremony.

  • Steel stud framing curtain with EIFS. EIFS is Exterior Insulated Finish System.  The next layer of the system is yellow stud board, and then white styrofoam is attached - this is the layer that will insulate and give the building the look of blocks of stone or just definition rather than just a plane surface.  The next step is grey mud and blue fiberglass mesh, this fiberglass mesh gives the system its wear resistance.  The final coat is the final finished look of the building.  The lower portion of the Pavilion will resemble sandstone, the middle area stucco and the upper areas are the blue of the sky; three different materials were used to symbolize the passage of time.
