ALBUQUERQUE , NM – The University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) recently was honored with a Platinum eHealthcare Leadership Award, the program’s highest honor, for Best Intranet Site.

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards highlight a health organization’s use of the Internet in achieving business objectives through outstanding health web sites.  This national awards program conducted by Strategic Health Care Communications, Inc., in Rye , NY, annually recognizes exemplary health care provider web sites.

Nearly 1,200 entries in 10 award categories were evaluated by an independent panel of 100 judges.  UNMH was the only platinum winner in the Best Intranet Site category, which measures how well an organization uses its "internal network" to enhance employee productivity and satisfaction, and reduce administrative costs, while encouraging use through effective website features and design.

“We’re very proud to have been recognized for our efforts,” remarked Marguerite Pacheco, systems analyst for UNMH Department of Information Technology. “But our work is hardly finished, as we are continually adding features and upgrading graphic design.”
